Book in Catalan, where the author, Juan Carlos Borrego, presents 13 excursions to discover, in depth, the region of the 'Terra Alta', through the ancestral itineraries of its pilgrimages, some of which dates back in its origins to the Middle Ages
On foot through the ravines of the region, the Algars River, the 'Serra de Pàndols' or the slopes of the 'Serra de Cavalls' you will be able to know a territory full of hermitages, patterns (Column with a gravestone or inscription that recalls an event ), funeral steles, farmhouses, walls and dry stone huts, trails and livestock tracks. But in addition, the villages with their parish churches, fountains, porches, alleyways and castles, and all this complemented by a set of human and social details that each of the pilgrimages conserves.
Each route is divided into three distinct parts: a first anthropological, which describes the pilgrimage, its origin, architecture of the hermitage, local beliefs, rites, joys, songs ... The second part, where the description of the route itself, including a technical sheet (distance, duration, slope). The third part forms a detailed map of the route and its points of interest.
