The 'Route of the 4 shelters of the Tramuntana' is a linear route by stages that goes from Roses to Albanyà,
with a slope of rise of 5379 m and 5204 m of descent.
Go through the 4 shelters of the 'Empordanès Excursionist Center' (Coll de Banyuls Refuge, Forn de Calç Refuge, Les Salines Refuge and Bassegoda Refuge).
The route is designed to be traveled on foot, but an alternative itinerary for mountain biking is included in areas that are impossible to cycle.
It begins at the archaeological site of Roses and goes back to the Serra de Verdera. The Romanesque of Sant Pere de Roda and Sant Quirze de Colera will accompany us to the Coll de Banyuls Refuge. Until the Forn de Calç Refuge you will enjoy the magnificent views of the Sierra de l'Albera with its beech trees that will accompany us to the Requesens forests. After passing through dolmens and megalithic monuments, you will arrive at Panissars Fort.
Another story to be discovered along this remarkable route will be the exile route to the 'Coll de Lli' and to the Sanctuary of les Salines with its refuge. Going up the Moixer beech trees, the last objective is observed in the distance: the Puig de Bassegoda, the Can Galan Refuge and Albanyà.
